The Tem of Togo
The Tem have a population of 270,000 and are over 99% Muslim. They are the predominate tribe in central Togo. Please pray for the salvation of their supreme chieftain and that the Gospel would go through this people group. Every year 2,700 Tem die without Christ, many of whom have never heard the Gospel even one time in their lifetime.
Let’s talk about Togo for just a moment. Togo, located in West Africa and known for its palm-lined beaches and hilltop villages, is also considered by many to be the “saddest country in the world” because it used to be the heart of slave trade in Africa. Rifts between the country’s leaders over power has left the people to fend for themselves, resulting in immense poverty.
We have the opportunity to join together to speak blessing over this small African nation – that the label of “saddest country” would be replaced with the label “joyful in Jesus”! We can pray that their poverty would be replaced with plenty, with abundance, first spiritually and then also in the natural. Won’t you join me in prayer for the Tem people and for their nation of Togo?
